Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, Vlog & Review!
Here's my vlog on my Harry Potter experience! (SPOILERS AHEAD IN THE REVIEW, NOT IN THE VIDEO)
SPOILER ALERT!
Here is the review! AGAIN, do not read this if you do not want to be spoiled on the movie.
I personally thought this movie was absolutely fantastic. I would give it 5/5 stars, for following the book amazingly well while still fitting the movie in to the classic (estimated) two and a half hours. I was impressed with the graphics, and even though there were some things I pictured differently, I wouldn't change a thing. It was definitely a highlight movie of the year for me, being a huge Harry Potter fan, and it will be a huge highlight movie forever. The perfect way to end the series. It started with the small flashback of what had happened at the end of the last movie, Voldemort obtaining the Elder Wand & casting the spell. Then it transitioned in to Harry at Shell Cottage. If you were to read the part 2 in the book, Shell Cottage would be the place to start. I won't get in to huge detail about the movie, because I'm sure if you're reading this, you will or have already seen it yourself. But here were a few scenes that I was looking forward to, and that really stood out to me. I was so excited for the Gringotts scene in general, but especially the part where Harry, Ron & Hermione ride the dragon to escape. I loved that entire scene, it was all very impressive graphically and certainly one of my favorites. Another was when Snape met Voldemort on the outer grounds of Hogwarts. It was done amazingly well, and as I expected, his death was a huge sob-fest for me. I thought it was done quite well, but of course it would have been better if he didn't have to die at all. :P Then was The Prince's Tale. Always has been my favorite part of the book, and it was my favorite part of the movie as well. It was so sweet, and I love the children who played Snape and Lily. Their acting was great! (I follow them on twitter, so I was especially excited to see their parts in the movie! Benedict/Snape's twitter: @benedictclarke, and Ellie/Lily's twitter: @elliedalden.) And of course, the Epilogue. I'm a big fan of practically all of those kids, and I was just as excited for that as I was for The Prince's Tale. Besides Bertie Gilbert (Scorpius Malfoy) not getting much of a part at all, it was great! Not quite what I expected, I was hoping it would put more of a spotlight on the kids, but it was still great for the time constraints and the more important scenes and all of that. (I follow a lot of those kids on twitter too, if you google their names you can find almost all of them! They're awesome, and very talented, so check them out!) I loved how well Dan, Emma, Bonnie and Rupert looked for the age they were supposed to be. I had seen pictures of the makeup before the movie came out and I wasn't expecting great things, but it really was great! The end of the Epilogue tied in with the end of the last scene at Hogwarts, which was the perfect way to end the series. So in love with how J.K. Rowling wrote this book, and how David Yates directed it. All in all, it was an amazing movie, and you should definitely go see it! I hope you all enjoyed this review, and let me know if you want any more like this. I really enjoy doing these. And to finish off my review...
